Six years ago today, our brother Chow Tsz-lok rested in the Lord.
During the anti-extradition movement in Hong Kong, at 1:05 a.m. on this day six years ago, he was found lying unconscious near the second floor of the Sheung Tak Car Park by Kwong Ming Court in Tseung Kwan O, believed to have fallen from the third floor and sustained fatal injuries.
He was taken to hospital for emergency treatment but did not survive. As there were protests and a heavy police presence nearby at the time, his death sparked intense public controversy. After about a year of inquest, the court concluded the case with an “open verdict,” citing uncertainty over the cause of death.
May we not forget what truth means.
May we not forget that justice must be seen.
May we not turn away from the pain of his parents.
May we not live on in numb indulgence.
Would you be willing to spend some time tonight in prayer and remembrance?
